DR. SHINTA TJANDRA
I was born in Surabaya, Indonesia, and grew up in Jakarta and Singapore. I completed my Master’s degree in Paediatrics and Child Health at the University of Melbourne in 2002. I undertook basic physician training in Paediatrics and Child Health with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Melbourne, where I worked extensively for 13 years in major tertiary hospitals including the Royal Children’s Hospital, Royal Women’s Hospital, Monash Medical Centre, as well as Sunshine, Dandenong, and Casey Hospitals with Monash Health, and Box Hill, Maroondah, and Angliss Hospitals with Eastern Health.
My paediatric background includes acute care in newborns and paediatric emergency medicine in hospital settings, as well as continuity of care in the community for children and adolescents with chronic health issues, disabilities, allergies, dermatology, developmental and behavioural concerns.
I am a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and enjoy all aspects of General Practice. My special interests include Paediatrics and Child Health, Family Medicine, Women’s Health, Dermatology, Chronic Disease Management, Preventative and Travel Medicine, health check-ups, weight management, and minor surgical procedures including skin excisions, Implanon insertions, and iron infusions I speak Indonesian, Malaysian, Mandarin, and Bahasa.
In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, painting, singing, dancing, songwriting, spending time with my family, and serving in my church community.
